Seafood provider boosts service, slashes costs with Agilisys

Johannesburg, 31 Mar 2004

King & Prince Seafood has chosen Agilisys Demand Planning as its forecasting solution in an effort to control inventory costs while increasing customer service.

The manufacturer and distributor of frozen seafood products will integrate Agilisys Demand Planning with its existing Agilisys ERP solution to further its supply chain capabilities.

"Having successfully implemented Agilisys ERP, the company chose Agilisys Demand Planning to reduce forecast error, thereby ensuring better control of inventory costs and customer service," says Bob Ashford, CIO of King & Prince Seafood. "With the implementation of this solution, we will be able to remove the limitations of our current manual forecasting processes and benefit from increased supply chain flexibility."

With its headquarters in Brunswick, Georgia, covering over 14 600 square metres of seafood processing, research and development facilities, and frozen storage, King & Prince Seafood has provided the food service industry with seafood products for more than 50 years. It has built a reputation on developing innovative products and programmes to add quality, variety and distinction to food service menus.

Marketed under the King & Prince, Gulf Stream, Golden Shore, Flying Jib and Oceanway corporate brands, tens of millions of pounds of processed seafood, scallops, fish and oysters are shipped internationally for foodservice markets.

Agilisys is the world`s fastest growing supply chain-centric ERP system and is distributed in SA by ApplyIT, the local IT specialist for the process manufacturing industry.

"Using Agilisys Demand Planning, King & Prince will be able to achieve a central demand plan for more accurate sales forecasts and improved responsiveness to shifting demands," says Gavin Halse, MD of ApplyIT.
