The local subsidiary of business intelligence (BI) software vendor, Seagate Software, has released a driver that provides native access for its enterprise reporting technology to Baan Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
Vivek Thomas, regional marketing manager for Seagate Software, says the new driver is certified by the Dutch company`s own BaanConnect Application Interface Programme for use with Baan IVc systems. "It enables Baan users to deploy Seagate Software`s enterprise reporting technology to access, analyse, report and share data across an organisation."
The Seagate Software Baan driver for Seagate Crystal Reports and Seagate Info allows users access to data through the Baan metalayer, while honouring and retaining Baan business logic and security. "Users benefit from fast, seamless access to enterprise data which enables them to create a wide variety of presentation-quality reports via the Web or desktop," he adds.
Data from multiple and disparate data sources other than the Baan ERP system can also be combined to create a single useful report.
Thomas Iskandar, group alliance manager of Baan`s international certification programme says the alliance with Seagate Software provides a complete solution for maximising business decision-making processes.
"Using our BI technology enables Baan customers to enhance their ability to share corporate data across the organisation, leading to improved decision-making," says Thomas.
