Multimedia Warehouse, member of the Siltek IT Supply Chain Group has announced availability of Creative's NOMAD II. This portable digital MP3 and Windows Media File (WMF) audio player comes complete with an FM tuner and voice recorder with a wired remote for music lovers on the move.
"The NOMAD II ships with expandable features such as MP3 format support with re-programmable firmware for future digital audio formats, software extensions and standards. The Creative product allows users to download support for future codec standards and digital rights management technology, enabling the NOMAD II to play digital music in secure formats," says David Sharples, product manager at Multimedia Warehouse.
"It is the next generation portable audio solution that delivers digital-quality sound and provides unlimited access to content as well as content customisation." Designed with a stylish high-tech look and durable casing, the Nomad II easily fits into a jacket pocket and also includes an icon-based back-lit LCD remote with scrolling text to view the artist name and song title.
"The Nomad II is designed for easy music uploads and downloads, and uses Universal Serial Bus (USB) technology for faster transfer rates. It also offers quick connectivity and setup to the PC, and doubles as a voice recorder making it suitable for taking dictation or recording personal reminders."
As there are no moving parts, the information is much safer than it would be with tape," says Sharples.
Also included with the Nomad II is a complete manager software package, Musicmatch, which allows the encoding, decoding and archiving of MP3 and WMF files, as well as a music content CD with more than 70 free MP3 songs.
The Nomad II is available in 32MB and 64 MB versions and offers SSFDC (Solid State Floppy Disk Card) compliant flash memory card support in all configurations, which means that it can be exchanged with a digital camera memory card.
A set of bass-enhanced stereo headphones that are contoured to fit the back of the head and optimised for high-quality sound during all activities is bundled with each Nomad II.
