Dean Brazier, CEO of listed security firm SecureData, has stepped down from his post with immediate effect, because he does not want to move to SA from the UK.
Brazier has been CEO of SecureData since 31 August 2005, when he joined from the Infiniurn European management team. He joined SecureData in 1999 as a director.
SecureData's former CEO has 25 years' experience in the ICT sector and was previously sales manager at Oracle.
Brazier has held senior sales and executive management positions in global management consulting and software development organisations. He was the founding member of ERP.com, and played a significant role in the development and growth of the company.
“It has become increasingly evident that the group requires a South African-based CEO to move them into the next phase of development. Although SA will always remain my family's home, we are not able to relocate from the UK at this time,” says Brazier.
In an announcement to shareholders, SecureData says Brazier won't relocate for “personal” reasons and, in the best interests of the company, made the “difficult decision” to resign.
The security company thanked Brazier for his contribution and indicated it would make an announcement regarding his replacement “in due course”.
SecureData's shares closed flat at 70c after the news was announced.
