SecureData goes to a channel model for the Centennial product

Johannesburg, 26 Feb 2003

SecureData, a member of the JSE-listed ERP.com Group, and the southern African distributor for Centennial, today announced that it has implemented a change in the way that the Centennial Discovery product is handled across sub-Saharan Africa. The previous hybrid approach now becomes a channel-only model, with the first partner already appointed under this new dispensation.

"We have taken this decision to bring us in line with Centennial's other distributors globally," commented Jan Coetzee, Director of SecureData, "and, because it makes our role much more defined and one that doesn't conflict in any way with that of our nominated partners.

"We will be appointing approximately 12 partners across sub-Saharan Africa, who we will encourage to undertake first line support as well," continued Coetzee. "Thus, SecureData will undertake the necessary backup support functions including the manning of a help-desk for use by these partners."

"More and more companies are grappling with the issues of corporate governance as part of their desire to manage their organisations more effectively and efficiently," added Steve Collett, Channel Business Manager for Centennial, during his recent visit to SA. "Tracking assets and ensuring software compliance are major issues. The ability to be better informed about software needs and the usage of software by individuals within organisations, is something we believe the Centennial product can provide in a unique way."

Centennial Discovery was awarded a 'Best Buy' choice last year, by UK-based SC Magazine, one of the world's leading security publications.
