Solution Wiz created its virusscan.be Web site to raise public awareness of the threat of computer viruses. The agreement with Trend Micro means that visitors to www.virusscan.be can now link directly to Trend Micro's HouseCall service, enabling a an instant scan of the user's PC to check for suspect files. If a virus is found, HouseCall will list the file name. The virus is then cleaned in most cases. Where this is not possible, HouseCall gives the user the option to delete the infected file, reducing the risk of spreading viruses. This service is available free of charge and is continually updated against new virus threats for Windows 95, 98, and 2000 users.
Visitors to www.virusscan.be can also purchase Trend Micro's PC-cillin directly from the site for on-going real-time protection for their PC. This award-winning solution gives home users an easy-to-use security system incorporating the same technologies available in Trend Micro's high-powered enterprise software packages. Certified for Microsoft Windows 2000, PC-cillin blocks all kinds of viruses and Trojans, and guards against new threats such as malicious Java applets, Active X controls and Web scripts that can be passed through Web sites, e-mail, network servers, CD-ROMs or floppy disks. PC-cillin also features Web site blocking options to prevent access to offensive Web sites.
By offering this service, Solution Wiz becomes the first Benelux reseller to republish PC-cillin.
