Specialist IT security company, Securicom, and Blue Turtle Technologies, which has the distribution rights for the world-leading Zenprise mobile device management (MDM) solutions in southern Africa, have launched a partner programme aimed at establishing a credible channel for MDM technologies and services in South Africa.
Securicom's MDM channel manager, Elna du Plessis, says the development of a partner model for Zenprise MDM solutions will ensure Securicom and Blue Turtle are able to effectively meet the burgeoning demand for strategic mobile solutions and services in South Africa.
"We are experiencing rapidly growing demand for MDM solutions. Through a partner model, we can empower credible partners to help address this demand quickly. Furthermore, local companies are beginning to trace international trends towards purchasing and implementing technologies through partners instead of with vendors.
"For MDM, which is largely a new field in South Africa, it makes strategic sense to do it this way," she says.
Zenprise's MobileManager Platform is the only end-to-end, enterprise-grade mobile device management solution currently available. It boasts advanced security features and comprehensive tools for managing mobile devices across an enterprise, supporting every major smart mobile device platform including iOS, Android, BlackBerry, Symbian and Windows Mobile.
Through their partnership, Securicom and Blue Turtle can offer it as an on-premise solution, or deliver it as a fully managed, cloud-based IT security service.
Michael Hutchinson, Infrastructure Product Manager at Blue Turtle, says: "The incredible rate of access to smart mobile devices, cost savings on devices, mobile workforces, the demand for quicker turnaround and immediate resolution, has perpetuated the need for solutions and services to the market that ensure the enterprise and individual's data and corporate policies and information are all protected. Together, Securicom and Blue Turtle are setting up the partner programme and will provide expert training and support on the technology to the partner network, from lead generation and account mapping, to deal closure, proof of concept and implementation. Partners will be ranked either Gold or Platinum, with incentives.
Du Plessis says there is a dedicated Partner Portal on Securicom's Web site where partners have access to an account starter pack and all the marketing and technical material they need to activate customers. Partner registration is according to set criteria and through a controlled application process.
