Governance, compliance and managing risks in the cloud will take centre stage at Security Summit 2011, as international experts join forces to demystify the threats of cloud computing.
Cloud computing offers tremendous promise, providing organisations the opportunity to scale in response to changing business needs and deliver a more predictable pay-as-you-go cost model.
However, building a secure future in the cloud depends on developing trust and confidence between cloud providers, users and consumers of cloud services.
At Security Summit 2011, a panel of international and local experts from Barclays, Zynga, Cloud Security Alliance and ABSA will explore the ins and outs of governance, compliance and managing risks in the cloud, focusing on the key requirements of delivering secure and compliant information services in hybrid clouds.
This practical half-day workshop, led by Dan Crisp, director of Global Strategic Information Risk Controls at Barclays Bank, will help delegates understand the business and IT processes, which need to be governed in public and private clouds, including the top threats and mitigations with a specific focus on PCI DSS requirements.
Co-facilitators of the workshop include Caroline Wong, CEO of Zynga - the largest user of cloud computing; Lynn Tenwoerds, chair: Metrics Working Group, Cloud Security Alliance; and Ritasha Jethva, head of Information Privacy, ABSA.
Through practical and interactive sessions, delegates will learn exactly what is required to implement governance, risk and compliance at cloud scale and the tools that are available today for greater transparency and accountability.
Additional focus areas include deploying and verifying compliant controls in private clouds; dealing with challenges of operating in multi-jurisdictions, geographies and coping with legal plurality.
The Security Summit, celebrating its sixth anniversary in 2011, will be held from 10 to 12 May at the Sandton Convention Centre. Click here for more details.
