SCS Distribution has announced the launch of the Axis 211A. The Axis 211A is a professional network camera that allows remote users to see, hear and speak over IP networks. The AXIS 211A Network Camera is suitable for surveillance and remote monitoring applications that require professional video and two-way audio communication over networks.
With a built-in microphone and the ability to connect to external speakers, the camera enables remote users to not only view, but also listen in on an area and communicate orders or requests to visitors or intruders. The network camera is an ideal solution for securing offices, shops and other facilities such as schools, university campuses and prisons. The product is also supported by the industry`s largest base of application software for video and alarm management.
The AXIS 211A has virtually the same functionalities as the AXIS 211 Network Camera, with the addition of two-way audio. This latest camera reduces cabling requirements and installation costs due to its built-in support for audio and Power over Ethernet, enabling power to the camera and two-way audio to be delivered through the same network cable.
Designed to be suitable for both indoor and outdoor lighting conditions, the AXIS 211A offers the best image quality in its class. It has a varifocal DC-iris lens and uses a progressive scan CCD image sensor that enables moving images to be presented without distortion. The network camera also supports full frame rate even at VGA 640 x 480 resolution. It offers simultaneous Motion JPEG and advanced MPEG-4 video streams, allowing systems to be optimised both for image quality and bandwidth efficiency.
Other features of the camera include video motion detection, pre- and post-alarm buffers, several notification options, privacy masking and inputs/outputs for connecting external devices such as door sensors and relays to activate light or close doors.
