Selectica holds HSIG meeting

Selectica, a provider of contract lifecycle management solutions, will hold the second meeting of the Selectica Special Interest Group (HSIG) on 4 June in San Francisco, says The Earth Times.

The HSIG is designed to allow executives from healthcare organisations to gather to compare notes, best practices and technology tips to solve their healthcare contract management problems.

Contract lifecycle management continues to play an increasingly important role in the relationship between , healthcare providers, physicians, administrators and vendors.

Study reveals unhappiness

According to Emptoris, a provider of enterprise supply and contract management software, more than 51% of Global 2000 companies report they are not getting the value expected from their suppliers, with more than 30% struggling to standardise measurement of their suppliers, says MarketWire.

Nearly two-thirds (64%) said they are preparing to more actively address supplier management.

The findings were the result of a survey conducted by Supply Chain Management Review and Emptoris during an online seminar on supplier risk management, and are based on responses from more than 260 senior supply management executives at Global 2000 companies.

Hamersley Iron gets contract

ABB has awarded a $5.9 million substation upgrade contract to Hamersley Iron, says Steel Guru.

This is the first contract executed under a recently developed Framework Agreement, established by Rio Tinto and ABB to accelerate delivery times and minimise contract management costs, by adopting pre-agreed commercial terms and conditions.

The substation is located at the Paraburdoo iron ore mine in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. The upgrade will enable a new gas turbine to be connected to the existing power grid.
