Sendinc, a provider of secure electronic messaging and collaboration tools, has expanded its e-mail encryption offerings with the release of an application program interface (API).
The Sendinc API provides a set of tools for programmers and developers to incorporate its cloud-based secure e-mail solution into their Web and software applications.
According to Sendinc, until now, applications including an e-mail component have been limited in their capabilities and functionality because they have been missing encryption, which is required by law for healthcare, financial, legal and many other businesses.
Daniel Stevens, the company's CEO, says this is the first-ever API release to deliver a free, user-friendly encryption service that can easily be leveraged to build or enhance custom applications on a wide range of systems.
“There are infinite ways this API can be utilised within existing and future applications,” says Stevens. “Technology for doctor-to-doctor communications, medical billing, financial and legal services, and other confidential data transmission tools are only a few examples of the types of applications that will significantly benefit from Sendinc's encryption capabilities.”
The Sendinc API release includes an SMTP API, which allows for easy integration of e-mail encryption into existing mail applications. It also includes a REST API, which provides extended possibilities for sending and receiving messages via any HTTP-enabled application.
Developers can access and use the API for free here.
