Official South African distributor, Bytes Business Solutions has announced the immediate availability of Serena Software`s ChangeMan DS 5.6, the latest version of its distributed change management product.
ChangeMan DS 5.6 has been enhanced to feature tighter integration with Serena TeamTrack - the company`s recently acquired process management technology - while also offering additional support for key enterprise solutions and improved performance.
"These new enhancements enable Serena to provide a more comprehensive enterprise change management (ECM) solution, empowering companies to manage the application development process more efficiently," says Justin Arnoldi, SCM Product Manager at Bytes Business Solutions.

Developers can also associate ChangeMan operations with a TeamTrack request and automatically record that operation in the process management technology. The integration can then be configured to require the association, or make it optional on a ChangeMan DS user or group basis.
TeamTrack, therefore, enforces and records this operation with a time and date stamp, the name of the ChangeMan DS user and the name of the object itself.
ChangeMan DS 5.6 also integrates with IBM`s WebSphere Studio Version 5, enabling users to better control complexity, as well as minimise the time and expense involved in building and maintaining distributed applications.
Also, the change management solution offers extended support for Eclipse 2, thus accelerating next-generation development.
Lastly, ChangeMan DS 5.6 offers comprehensive support for Mercury Interactive`s global test management software, TestDirector.
