Server Tools secures VoiXX agency

Johannesburg, 25 May 1998

Server Tools, the distributor of Windows NT-based software, has secured the exclusive rights to distribute Intersis Technologies software in South Africa. Intersis Technologies is the creator of VoiXX, a Microsoft Exchange service that integrates voice into Microsoft Exchange. "VoiXX perfectly complements our existing stable of NT-based products," says Dave Terespolsky, MD of Server Tools. "It provides the widest range of voice applications in the Exchange environment that we have seen." Examples of VoiXX applications include: * True integration of voice messaging within Microsoft Exchange and Outlook clients through Exchange Server Connector; * Standalone voice messaging infrastructure, with or without a PBX; * Remote touch-tone access, multiple menu, and full auto-attendant features for integration with existing systems or complete replacement of them; and * Two-way use of the telephone as a multimedia device for recording and listening to voice messages or files. In addition, Intersis is soon to release VoiXX Web. "This completes the bidirectional Internet interface for VoiXX`s messaging infrastructure," says Terespolsky. This will enable preconfigured or open field messaging - either as an internal communication tool for remote users, public messaging interface, or customer service/business facilitator. Under development at Intersis is a text-to-speech facility that enables complete bidirectional data transfer within the VoiXX infrastructure, creating three-way messaging options for Internet, e-mail, and voice-mail, via VoiXX Travel.
