Colligo Networks has introduced an offline collaboration solution for SharePoint Server, reports CMSWire. The new system supports Microsoft Office 2007 and Microsoft Vista.

It allows both online and offline access, enabling increased use of the SharePoint system within businesses.

Barry Jinks, CEO of Colligo Networks, says the response to the new solution has been good. "Over 7 000 end-users are benefiting from Colligo Reader and thousands more from nearly 200 large and small companies have purchased Colligo Contributor," he says.

UK energy supplier deploys content management

Npower, a UK energy supplier, has implemented content management software to improve services and information for customers on its Web sites, reports ITWeek.

The system will control assets and support about 30 Web sites, including the company's home site as well as sponsorship sites. Personalised online services such as billing, meter reading and fuel saving deals will be available to customers.

Npower wants to improve its online activities and create stronger customer relationships, and the content management system is expected to provide a platform for this.

Datamonitor releases comparative report

Enterprise content management vendor EMC has taken top spot in a comparative report conducted by Datamonitor, reports Tekrati.

The report compares the top performing enterprise content management vendors, and includes Datamonitor and Butler Group intelligence on EMC as well as FileNet, Hummingbird, IBM, Interwoven, Microsoft, Open Text, Oracle, Stellent and Vignette.

The report found EMC was the strongest vendor overall; Open Text showed strong technology and IBM is the leader in sentiment. Microsoft also featured as a strong new player with a clear content management strategy.
