SharePointKonsult, the Microsoft Gold Partner and specialist SharePoint consultancy, has recently completed and launched the new City of Tshwane (COT) Web portal. The site was built and developed on Microsoft's highly acclaimed SharePoint 2010 platform.
With substantial investments in the Microsoft and SAP platforms, the City of Tshwane required a portal platform that would enable communication and collaboration with its citizens.
The portal had to further lay the foundations for citizen self-service features to be rolled out in future. SharePoint 2010 offers great flexibility and fits in well with the City of Tshwane's IT environment and strategy.
“The Web site is part of a long-term strategy,” says Febridge Lebea, Chief Information Officer for the City of Tshwane, “and our goal is to drive value to citizens and other stakeholders with content that is fresh and current, increased response times and improved services levels across the board.”
The new portal addressed the requirements for streamlined communication with citizens, relevant content and interactive features. It further integrates well within the technology stacks of the organisation and offers a world-class Web user interface.
“By leveraging on existing Microsoft and SAP technologies, the city will be able to reduce costs and increase their return on investment. Going forward, the new portal laid the foundation to implement e-services for citizens,” says Nizaam Karjieker, Manager at SharePointKonsult (SPK).
