Shenzhen Unicom opts for CA solutions

Computer Associates International, (CA) today announced that Shenzhen Unicom, the second-largest mobile telephone provider in Shenzhen province, is deploying a wide-range of CA`s acclaimed eBusiness management solutions to enhance and upgrade the management of its IT systems, in order to support the rapid growth of its diverse business activities.

Shenzhen Unicom serves one million Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM) customers and has initiated a variety of new services in recent years. The company needs to collect, store, and access vast across different platforms, while effectively managing and executing thousands of different information processing tasks. Customer must be analyzed and provided to management for strategic planning.

After an extensive assessment of available technologies, Shenzhen Unicom selected CA`s Advantage, Unicenter, AllFusion and CleverPath solutions to support its substantial business growth, while also reducing costs and optimizing the productivity of its workforce.

By deploying CA`s Advantage Ingres Enterprise Relational Database as the foundation of its mission-critical Mobile Billing System, Shenzhen will be able to easily integrate remote access to a variety of enterprise data sources. Shenzhen Unicom also selected CA`s state-of-the-art Unicenter Network and Systems Management Database Performance Monitor Option to automatically monitor and manage its Mobile Billing System, thereby helping ensure continued performance and availability of the system 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

By leveraging CA`s Advantage Data Transformer Enterprise Metadata Edition, Shenzhen Unicom`s IT administrators can quickly build, deploy, and populate the structures supporting their business intelligence applications without compromising ease of use or information accuracy. CA`s AllFusion ERwin Data Modeler is crucial to the creation and maintenance of the various database and data warehouse models that are essential for ensuring that Shenzhen Unicom`s valuable data resources are closely aligned with its business requirements.

Shenzhen Unicom is also deploying CA`s powerful CleverPath reporting solutions in order to give the company the ability to aggregate data from different sources and then analyze it using interactive, easy-to-read reports.
