Perle Systems, a leading provider of networking products for e-business access, today announced that it has already received commitment from dozens of Shiva Value-Added Resellers (VAR`s) around the world to sell its dial access and serial server products, as a result of Intel Shiva`s retreat from the market. Offering free technical support, competitive pricing and a more modern product line, Perle`s remote access solutions present the most attractive alternatives to the Shiva LanRover and ShivaPort product lines withdrawn by Intel earlier this month.
"It is not clear why Intel pulled out of the market but it is clear that many Shiva resellers have been upset by the move because many of these resellers have real RAS business they need to close now. This is why so many former Shiva VAR`s are switching to Perle products which are perfect alternatives to the LanRover and ShivaPort ranges," said Sean O`Donovan, vice-president of Marketing, Perle Systems Inc. Earlier this month, Perle announced that it would be stepping in to fill the gap left by Intel`s retreat from the market. Since then many Shiva resellers have committed to selling Perle products as an alternative to the Shiva LanRover and ShivaPort products. These Resellers and Distributors from all around the world include CDW, Insight and Software House International in the US, UK-based Abtec Network Systems and Grantham Sutch Associates, and Australian-based Digital Networks, Dovetail Distribution and New Zealand-based KAON Technologies.

The Perle 833 Access Server line offers the most attractive alternative to Shiva LanRover products.
