Global network infrastructure company, Siemon has made available a new vertical and horizontal cable management system, RouteIT, in Africa.

According to Dave Valentukonis, cabling support systems business unit manager at Siemon, RouteIT is specifically designed for high-density enterprise and centre cabling systems.

"It's available as single- or double-sided vertical managers in a full complement of widths and in horizontal managers, with either four- or six-inch management fingers. RouteIT is ideal for use with Siemon's innovative VersaPOD and RS series racks," he says.

Valentukonis further explains that RouteIT cable managers provide a system for readily routing and protecting both horizontal cables and patch cords, to support high-speed network cabling systems. The high-capacity, field-replaceable fingers can easily accommodate more than 48 category 6A cables, to work seamlessly with high-density patch panels and blade switches, while offering a finger radius that prevents deformation of cables entering or exiting the vertical managers.

"The double-sided vertical manager has matching front and rear fingers and doors, plus adjustable divider brackets offer flexibility to accommodate capacity where it's needed - at the front for patch cords, or at the rear for horizontal cables," he says. "Available in 1U, 2U and 4U sizes, the RouteIT horizontal cable managers also feature removable dual-hinge covers for easy access."

Vertical RouteIT cable managers feature full-length, dual-hinged doors that protect and conceal the cabling, providing a high-quality appearance, notes Valentukonis. A single finger latch operation gives quick and easy access from both sides, and the doors can be completely removed during initial loading. An optional extended width cover is available for use with racks in Siemon's RS Series, to conceal extended depth channels.

"We introduced the new RouteIT vertical and horizontal cable managers to specifically address high-density cabling systems in a variety of telecommunications spaces," adds Valentukonis.

He concludes that the RouteIT vertical cable managers are extremely flexible as they come in six-, 10-, 12- and 16-inch widths, with divider brackets that can even be positioned to taper capacity from the front to the rear.
