Simple media management

Johannesburg, 08 Dec 2010

It used to be that CD-burning applications burned CDs. And they still do, but each new version has more and more features until, finally, CD burning seems to be only one small aspect of the total package.

Roxio's Easy CD & DVD Creator is one of the most full featured disc-burning suites around. A PC-based integrated software with CD and DVD burning capabilities, Easy CD & DVD Creator lets users transfer music, video, digital images and data files off the PC and onto recordable CDs and DVDs.

Roxio's media suite is loaded with features, but not at the expense of its core competency: burning discs. “Whether video, data or audio, Easy CD & DVD Creator allows users a simple solution to storing, editing and managing digital media,” says Simon Campbell-Young, CEO of Phoenix Software, distributor of Roxio products in South Africa. “All you need to do is drag the files you want to burn to the Drag-To-Disc icon Roxio puts on your desktop or in your Windows system tray when you install Easy CD & DVD Creator.”

But Easy CD & DVD Creator does so much more than just burn disks. Use AudioCentral's Media Library to keep all your music files in easy-to-access order, and you also can organise your music files into playlists that make burning compilations to CD-R a one-click task. To transfer (rip) tracks from an audio CD to your media library, click AudioCentral automatically transfers the selected tracks to your Media Library in MP3 format with a few clicks. “You can also be your own sound engineer. You can boost bass, remove static, add reverb, and apply a host of other effects to your audio files,” adds Campbell-Young.

When you capture video from a camcorder or other external video source, DVD Builder can automatically separate your video into individual clips, which you can later arrange into a final sequence in the Workshop area. You can add polish to your home movies by adding scene transitions, and giving your DVD eye- and ear-catching chapter menus, such as the ones found on commercial DVDs, is a simple task.

Among the many photo-editing features included, the novice-friendly red-eye reduction function is the easiest to use. “You can create a slideshow out of your photos in a few easy steps, and if you have more than one recordable drive, you can send the same burn to all of them simultaneously. You can whip together snazzy-looking disc art and a cover/insert package for your CD/DVD case with Roxio's Label Creator application. These are just a few of the features of this software suite, and all of these are so simple to use that anyone can create professional looking and sounding disks,” Campbell-Young says.

He adds that all of these features come at a very reasonable price - much lower than competing products. “This is a fully featured media suite that allows users to store, edit and manage all digital media. Comparative products, many of which share the same features, and many which lag behind this product, retail for over R1 000. At an SRP of R699.99, the Roxio Easy CD & DVD Creator is great value for money, providing features and benefits that often outweigh those of more expensive competitive products.”

Easy CD and DVD Burner is available from leading retailers nationwide.
