Itec has launched the B282 and B362, the latest additions to its series of monochrome multifunctional products (MFPs).
Complementing Itec's extensive range of colour products, the new MFPs are ideal for workgroups and mid-sized offices. Both combine fast, high-quality scanning and output with productivity-enhancing network features for securely sharing and managing data.
The universal design of the ITEC B282/B362 makes them accessible to all users, regardless of height or disability. Control panels can be adjusted to different viewing angles, buttons have been designed for maximum visibility and ease of use, and the display can be zoomed for visually-impaired users. Replacing toner and paper is quick and easy with front access to both and easy-grip paper trays. For high visibility, the machine's body colour contrasts sharply with white paper.
“The ITEC B282/B362 support industry-standard network protocols and extend the functionality of existing network infrastructures,” says Holger Groenert, manager product marketing, Itec Distribution. “The combination of network functionality, dependable security and ease of use makes each one a compelling document management solution.”
Originals can be scanned directly to PDF or TIFF format at a speed of up to 70 originals per minute (200dpi), then distributed directly to multiple network recipients via SMB, sent to a shared file server via FTP, or sent as e-mail attachments or via Internet fax.
An optional fax kit extends the capabilities with G3 fax, IP fax and PC fax. The optional PageScope Workware streamlines PDF-based document management, providing drag-and-drop merging, and dividing and repagination of documents. It also includes tools for correcting scanned images, searching documents, and combining scanned data with existing data to create new documents.
The ITEC B282/B362 deliver 28ppm and 36ppm of output, with no downtime for reloading paper or replacing toner, as this can be done on-the-fly. PCL 6 and Postscript 3 emulation are standard, ensuring accurate reproduction at 600dpi x 600dpi output resolution. Output quality is further assured with polymerised toner that produces sharp text and fine gradations.
“Network security is becoming increasingly important in South Africa, and in this area too the ITEC B282 and B362 excel,” says Groenert. “Data is protected against unauthorised access with SSL-encrypted transmission, strong user authentication features and a Secure Print function which allows printing to begin only after the user enters a password at the control panel.”
The optional HDD can also be locked with a password, and the data completely overwritten with random numbers before disposal. The included PageScope utilities software provides convenient, secure device management via a standard Web browser running on any PC in the local network.
