MWEB Business, the division of MWEB that focuses on the specialised needs of small and large businesses, this week launched Business Adviser. The easy-to-use software program addresses the technology fears and uncertainties of smaller business owners, by determining exactly what their Internet needs are.
A free copy of Business Adviser can be obtained by contacting the MWEB Business call centre on 0860 100 127 or by downloading the program from www.mwebbusiness.co.za.
"There are numerous opportunities for businesses that use an Internet solution structured to suit their requirements. Many smaller businesses are, however, hesitant to explore possibilities, as they perceive the technology and accompanying jargon to be intimidating. Business Adviser addresses these fears and concerns," says Gary Hart, manager: marketing and products, MWEB Business.
Prior to and during the development of Business Adviser, MWEB Business conducted extensive research to determine the Internet needs of small and medium business owners.
"We found that smaller business owners do not want to be burdened with often confusing Internet technology and terminology. At the same time, they want to know more about the Internet products that can assist in the running of their business, however, they seldom have access to an IT specialist that can advise them on the best solution. Business Adviser was therefore developed to give business owners straightforward advice on the most appropriate package to enable them to function as profitably and productively as possible," says Hart.
The interactive software program poses a set of uncomplicated questions about current and potential customers` businesses and their current and future Internet requirements. After answering the questions, Business Adviser will recommend one of five core M-Packages as well as additional special services:
* M1: Internet access and e-mail;
* M2: Internet access, e-mail and domain registration;
* M3: Internet access, e-mail, domain registration, hosting and a Web site;
* M4: Internet access, e-mail, domain registration, hosting and an e-commerce webstore; and
* M5: Self-managed Internet.
Before exiting the program, Business Adviser generates a contact form that contains details about the recommended package. Customers are then able to send the form to MWEB Business via fax or e-mail. Customers can also contact an MWEB Business consultant to obtain further information.
In addition to the core M-Packages, MWEB Business offers the following add-on services: mass communication manager, mail spooling, Web site hosting, customised Web site development, advanced e-commerce, managed/outsourced services and virtual private networks.
