Sisonke Software Solutions will gain significant growth prospects from a partnership with Greece-based international software house Akeydor, says the local black empowered software distributor.
The partnership gives Sisonke sole distribution rights for Akeydor's Activeworx suite of security products in SA and several markets in the Sub-Saharan region. "The projected turnover target for Southern Africa for 2008 will be R1.6 million," says Ighsaan Akoojee, MD of Sisonke.
He is confident of reaching the target since the company is already in negotiations with several of SA's large banks.
Akoojee says the Activeworx products are expected to play a vital role in the company's expansion plans for this year. "It will enable us to enter the lucrative security sector and is the first step in a partnership with Akeydor. We also have future plans to distribute other products in their portfolio."
According to Sisonke, the partnership also allows the company to grow in the rest of Africa. "Part of our marketing strategy will be to establish partnerships with VARs in other African countries. We've already had a great response from Nigeria and Ghana and have established resellers in these regions."
Akoojee says the company will target Namibia, Botswana and Swaziland to appoint resellers in these countries before the end of the first quarter.
"Sisonke is very eager to include Activeworx in our product portfolio. We believe there is great potential in the South African and Sub-Saharan market. We are also excited that Akeydor has chosen us to bring this new product into the region."
Activeworx is a security information event and log management software platform, which includes monitoring, capturing, visualisation, correlation, reporting and logging of network security events. The solution can be bought in different modules, according to business requirements.
"The new partnership is announced less than one month after Akeydor opened its doors for business. The short time to market shows how attractive the unique Activeworx products are," says Akeydor MD Michael Chatzillias.
