SITA appoints acting CEO

The State IT Agency (SITA) today announced the appointment of chief operations officer Ken Modise as its acting CEO.

Three CEOs have quit the organisation in the past three years. Colin Van Schalkwyk, who left last month, was the latest to resign. The other CEOs who left the organisation are JC Van Niekerk and Tebogo Matsoso. It took the organisation four and eight months respectively to replace the two.

Van Schalkwyk was replaced by Mike Roussos, a SITA board member and CEO of the Gauteng Shared Services, as acting CEO in August.

SITA board chairman Zodwa Manase said in a statement that Roussos will resume his duties as a SITA board member.

"Modise will report to the SITA board through the SITA chairperson."
