Following the recent resignation of Tebogo Matsoso as MD of the State IT Agency (SITA), SITA has appointed Makano Mojapelo as acting MD with immediate effect.
Mojapelo was previously the director for IT for the provincial government of the North West, before being appointed as director for IT at SITA.
"The appointment of Mojapelo will have no affect on SITA's strategy," says Oupa Ngwenya, manager for marketing and communication at SITA.
"Our plans are exactly the same as outlined by Sello Rasethaba, chairman of the SITA board of directors.
"However, we will set up a process in which we will look for an MD. A shortlist of candidates has not yet been drawn up, but we are giving it our utmost attention."
Geraldine Fraser-Moleketi, minister of public service and administration, has approved the appointment of Mojapelo as acting MD.
