SITA appoints new CEO

Johannesburg, 27 Jun 2003

The chairperson of the State Information Technology Agency (SITA), Zodwa Manase, has announced the appointment of Mavuso Msimang as the new group chief executive for the state-owned IT agency with effect from 1 October 2003.

Msimang is currently the CEO of South African National Parks, where he will continue until the end of September.

He brings to SITA a wealth of experience and a very impressive track record of having successfully transformed South African National Parks and executed the mandate of his board.

Msimang takes over from Ken Modise, who is currently the chief operating officer and acting group CEO.

"On behalf of the SITA board of directors, I would like to thank Ken Modise for leading the company, albeit in an acting capacity," said Manase.
