Slate G Series introduced

Broadcast Pix has unveiled its Slate G Series, which enhances and replaces its current generation of live integrated production systems, at the same price points, reports Broadcastbuyer.

The Slate G Series has a new Intel quad workstation that houses the Slate video processing boards and is powerful enough to be upgradable to future 3Gbps 1 080p boards.

The quad workstation also boosts the Slate's built-in clip and graphics stores to HD and upgrades its built-in Inscriber CG to HD.

Avaya has retailers cashing in

The recession hasn't been particularly kind to the sector thus far, but Avaya, provider of contact centre solutions, believes it has two industry-specific solutions that can improve the customer experience and bottom line, according to destinationCRM.

The two offerings, In-Store Connect and Video Assist, look to utilise both the audio and visual channels to help improve the way retail employees interact with customers rummaging through store shelves.

"These applications are enabling retailers to make their existing associates more efficient and effective," explains Daryl Page, MD of retail and at Avaya.

Digital presentation deal signed

ASX-listed IT reseller, Corporate Express, has formed a partnership with Hitachi Australia to resell the vendor's presentation products, according to ARNnet.

Corporate Express will have access to Hitachi's FX-DUO 77 StarBoard - a dual touch interactive whiteboard that can be networked to link classrooms or offices within a building or across the world.

Corporate Express will also carry Hitachi's LCD projectors, including the portable CPX301 and ultra-portable models CPX1, CPX4 and CPX5, as well as the CPA100 Ultra Short Throw projector.
