Automated business assurance solutions specialist, SMARTS, has taken the wraps off InCharge for Security Infrastructure Management, with the product available immediately through local systems integrator NSS.
The InCharge suite is the industry`s only smart software for managing networks, systems and applications in alignment with the business they support. According to Jaun van der Walt, System Engineers at NSS, InCharge for Security Infrastructure Management proactively monitors and analyses the state, health and change control actions of security devices deployed throughout the enterprise.
He confirmed that security products supported by the first release include those from Cisco, Check Point and Nokia.

InCharge for Security Infrastructure Management effectively monitors and reports on the state, health, and change control of security devices deployed throughout the enterprise.
The new product delivers:
* Firewall performance monitoring: Proactively monitors firewalls to determine the health of key elements, such as processes, processors, memory, disks, file systems, applications and interfaces.
* Change control/policy monitoring: Gathers information and sends alerts regarding policy changes and logins/logouts (successful/unsuccessful/read/write) and performs session-level aggregation on events.
* Event management: Provides consolidation and uniform representation of security-related event information regardless of event source. In addition, events are associated with a topological context (ie related networks, systems, applications, services and business objects).
* Capable of leveraging existing third-party investments: InCharge for Security Infrastructure Management can effectively leverage the valuable security analysis from a wide variety of pure play security solutions - including those from such companies as Intellitactics, eSecurity and netForensics - placing the data within the context of network and business topologies.
