Kyocera's commitment to innovative technology and low cost of ownership is evident in its KM-NET printer management solution - an established product that is leading the field in delivering the results that businesses are looking for.
KM-NET provides a management console for users to control their print jobs; a maintenance view - accessed on the network or via the Web - to check on the status of individual machines and the consumables they use; and a full-featured administration view that can assign jobs to specified cost centres and monitor individual users' accounts.
On the maintenance side, KM-NET can send alerts when a machine is low on toner or offline.
On the accounting side, KM-NET for Accounting will handle assigning job codes to projects. All Kyocera machines store job codes, but the KM-NET solution provides a remote view and reporting of the actual figures in real-time. It can also report on faxes sent from multifunctional products (MFPs).
Information is exported as a CSV file, which can be easily imported into client software (such as Microsoft Excel) or stored in an enterprise resource management (ERM) system.
For administrators, the KM-NET Viewer allows live reporting and control of all network machines, including configuration and settings. Access can be via the network or via a browser.
For users, KM-NET for Clients allows a desktop view and control of print jobs and available printers.
"KM-NET provides administrators and users with all the features they need to increase productivity and reduce costs," says Michael Powell, product manager at Kyocera South Africa. "The solution is highly-scalable and can support everything from small office environments right up to large enterprises.
"With the accounting view, managers can get a full report of what users are doing, including prints, copies and fax costs, and this reporting can be automatically assigned to the relevant projects.
"This gives the sort of detailed cost control that our customers really need to run an efficient business."
