SME cloud spend to hit $68bn

services in a big way over the next few years, Small business computing.com writes.

That's according to the SMB Cloud Insights report published last week during the Parallels Summit in Orlando.

For evidence that cloud momentum is building among small enterprises, one has to look no further than the US.

The SME cloud services market grew 25% in 2011 to reach $15.1 billion. Globally, that figure is set to hit $68 billion by 2014, representing a compound annual growth rate of 26%.

“Parallels SME Cloud Insights research continues to confirm that SMEs are at the forefront of cloud adoption,” BusinessWire quotes Birger Steen, CEO of Parallels, as saying.

“This research is part of our commitment to providers to give them both the expertise and technology they need to address the quickly-growing market for SME cloud services.”
