SME specific PCs unveiled

Johannesburg, 14 Nov 2005

Lenovo has announced its first line of desktop PCs for small businesses - the ThinkCentre E Series.

The ThinkCentre E50 tower and small desktop PCs deliver IBM and support, as well as protection to simplify manageability, the company says in a statement.

"Lenovo has developed the ThinkCentre E Series line of desktops to offer small business professionals technology peace of mind. We want to reduce the day-to-day IT management hassles small businesses face by providing basic PC functionality for easy-to-use solutions right out of the box," says Rashid Wally, country GM of Lenovo SA.

As part of the Think Express programme, ThinkCentre E50 tower and small desktop PCs are available through Lenovo business partners and directly through Lenovo.com.

"The Think Express programme provides a selection of PCs from entry-level to performance models based on input from small- and mid-sized customers and Lenovo business partners," Wally says.

The new ThinkCentre E50 tower and small desktop PCs come equipped with the Intel 915GV Chipset with GMA 900 graphics and the SIS 661FX Chipset, respectively. Both tower and small desktop ThinkCentre E50 PCs are available with Pentium 4 and Celeron D processors and six USB 2.0 ports.

The bundle starts at R6 499.
