SOA big in Oz, New Zealand
ComputerWorld reports that the service-oriented architecture (SOA) market in Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) will grow at an estimated 36% compound annual growth between 2006 and 2010, according to Springboard Research.
"ANZ is by far the largest SOA market in the APAC region and it is expected to continue its growth story," said Michael Barnes, VP for software research at Springboard Research.
Springboard reported that SOA has reached noteworthy penetration levels in banking and financial services and government sectors.
Iona releases Artrix
Iona Technologies has released Artix Data Services, an open standards-based development tool for building model-driven data services, states TCMnet.
It is also a key component of Iona's Artix advanced SOA infrastructure suite.
The new features of Iona's Artix advanced SOA infrastructure suite include a transport abstraction layer, smart mappings, an aliases function and developer support for Apple OS X and Solaris platforms.
ZSL releases Enterprise 2.0 framework
ZSL released its Enterprise 2.0 SocNet Framework built on IBM Websphere sMash and SOA, says ebizQ.
ZSL's Enterprise 2.0 SocNet Framework offers a social networking platform that includes features, like blogs, Wikis, forums, tagging, bookmarking and intelligent searching.
The framework is primarily targeting mid- to large-enterprises worldwide. However, the sub-components could be implemented as modules and lay the foundation for the full-scale SOA.
