SOA conference imminent

The 13th International SOA World Conference and Expo will be held by SYS-CON Events, in midtown Manhattan, on 23 and 24 June, says SOA World.

The most important business benefit that service-oriented architecture (SOA) can provide is the ability to respond swiftly to change: changes in the market, the supply chain, strategic processes and regulations.

The speakers are all seasoned SOA practitioners with a passion for helping to usher in the new era of IT agility made possible by standardised best practices, pervasive communication and data protocols, and a general movement toward openness and interoperation in the industry.

Collaborative SOA is future

SAP says collaborative working through SOA technology represents the future for businesses, says silicon.com.

Speaking at the opening day of SAP's Sapphire conference in Berlin, Henning Kagermann, SAP co-CEO, said collaboration is the "most important market transition going on in business".

And he added SOA has an important part to play in this. "The entry ticket to manage these networks is SOA. It makes you network-ready," he said.

SOA Software buys LogicLibrary

SOA Software, a Los Angeles-based integrated SOA governance automation vendor, has acquired LogicLibrary, a Pittsburgh-based SOA repository and governance vendor, says Insurance Networking.

The combination of the two companies creates an integrated SOA governance automation solution that spans all lifecycle stages and governance types from planning to development, policy, and through operational governance, according to SOA Software.

This allows enterprises to accelerate their full adoption of SOA with the rapid delivery of relevant consumable services for distributed and mainframe environments.
