Choice Technologies has partnered with the Premier Soccer League (PSL), to provide the national soccer organisation with a technology solution that will enhance its communication with various stakeholders and customers.

An announcement was made this morning in Sandton. The partnership is based on a three-year contract, with an option to renew for a five-year period. The value of the deal was not revealed.

Appointed as the IT supplier to the PSL, Choice Technologies` responsibility is to work with the PSL to formulate a technology roadmap for the organisation.

An ongoing weakness of the local football industry has been its inability to speedily and effectively communicate with its various customers and stakeholders, PSL CEO Trevor Phillips said in Sandton.

"The need for modernisation of our registration and information gathering systems makes it vital that we have a technology partner that understands our needs. Essentially that`s what we are looking for from Choice Technologies," he said.

Reporting the correct score of the previous day`s soccer games is of vital importance, he said. "The worst scenario would be to report the wrong score that ends up appearing in the papers the following day.

"We are looking for a system that will collect accurate information speedily and disseminate that to the press. We also decided to work with Choice Technologies because of their involvement with the 2010 Soccer World Cup bid."

Choice Technologies is looking forward to assisting the PSL by developing a technology roadmap that will benchmark them with others in the international arena, said Choice CEO Semela Tseka.

"We will soon be launching a technology product that will further enhance the PSL`s communication system and connect them to the world," said Tseka.
