Social Development implements PPO

The Department of Social Development is implementing project portfolio management (PPM) software solution provider, Post Vision Technology's Project Portfolio Office (PPO) offering.

This will allow for the alignment of its business and IT objectives through its newly-established programme management office.

PPO is a Web-based, enterprise-capable application designed, developed and supported in SA to assist organisations of all sizes and in any industry to projects and project portfolios.

The department was looking for a Web-based tool to ensure project visibility, resource management, collaboration, and to minimise project failure.

A spokesman says the department believes PPO's features surpass all of these requirements, particularly in terms of functionality, implementation cycle and cost-effectiveness.

Senior managers and managers within the department's business units, project managers, as well as selected individuals, will be using PPO, with plans to increase the number of users to 30 in the next six months.

The project will be rolled out by PPO implementation and consulting , PM Focus Consulting.
