Socket launches entry-level, ruggedised wireless scanner for Bluetooth

Socket Communications (www.socketcom.com), the leader in business accessories for mobile devices, has enhanced its wireless bar code scanners.

Currently Socket`s CHS "Cordless Hand Scanners" consist of the CHS 7M (Class 1 Laser Scanner) and the CHS 7P (Class 2 Laser Scanner). Now two more additions: the CHS 7E (CMOS Laser Scanner) low-cost entry-level scanner and the ruggerdised CHS 7P (the 7P scanner with rugged outer casing).

Socket Cordless Hand Scanner (CHS) 7P: As a ruggedised, high performance-level scanning solution, the CHS 7P is designed for cordless operation using Bluetooth-enabled mobile computers. The CHS 7P combines the power of laser bar code scanning with fuzzy logic and the convenience of Bluetooth wireless technology in a single compact, lightweight device that is ergonomically designed to fit comfortably in the palm of a hand.

Socket Cordless Hand Scanner (CHS) 7E: Designed for cordless operation using Bluetooth-enabled mobile computers, the CHS 7E is a convenient and affordable entry-level scanning solution with advanced miniature linear CMOS technology. Completing the CHS Series 7 product line, the compact, lightweight and ergonomically designed scanner decodes most popular bar codes using an LED light source, enabling the user to collect bar-coded data without being tied to a mobile or desktop computer.

Socket`s Cordless Hand Scanner (CHS) with Bluetooth wireless technology is compatible with the following mobile computers or smartphones if Bluetooth-enabled: Pocket PC 2003/SE, Windows Mobile 4.2 and 5.0; Windows XP, or XP Tablet; Palm PDA; RIM (7290 and 7100 Series BlackBerry devices); and Symbian Series 60 & 80 devices.
