The Accpac 360-degree experience was at the centre of the Softline ACCPAC Insights 2008 annual conference held earlier this month.
Bringing together the company's solution provider channel, employees, international and local third-party developers, Accpac Insights 2008 attracted over 270 people, including several international Sage executives from Sage Accpac, Sage CRM and Sage ERP X3.
Jeremy Waterman, Softline Accpac MD, presented the six pillars of the 360-degree experience: financials, distribution, service, manufacturing, retailing and CRM, outlining the importance of each and the fundamental importance of providing a complete business solution to customers.
"Having a 360-degree view of our customers enables us to understand their evolving needs and provide the most appropriate enhancements or support. Our full circle product range assists us to provide a true 360-degree experience." Having experienced significant growth in 2007, Waterman said CRM was one of the most successful areas for the company as well as Accpac for Mining and the company's retail offering, Accpac RMS.
"Vertical sector offerings are a key growth area for Accpac. Our approach to these markets has already been a success, with the value of our niche end-to-end solutions adding value to our customers."
Waterman also stressed the contribution of solution partners and the respective products developed both locally and in Africa.
A highlight of the conference was the keynote presentation by Sage Accpac General Manager, Laurie Schultz. Addressing the delegates, Schultz said Sage had 5.5 million customers worldwide and aspires to be the most admired business software and services provider in the world. "We are already the third largest provider of business management solutions in the world and are confident that our approach will see us retain, if not improve our global market share."
Schultz said Accpac provides customers with a definite freedom of choice, having a presence in over 160 countries, speaking in excess of 15 languages. "Customers tell us that the top four reasons why they use Accpac are product capability and features, the end-to-end developer ecosystem, partner support and the freedom of choice with the Accpac architecture."
Schultz concluded her presentation with a roadmap of new releases; announcing the launch date of Accpac 5.5, the ERP business management system, which will take place in April 2008.
Stephen Smith, SVP for product development, then presented the future vision of Accpac 6.0 - the new generation Web-top version of Accpac. Smith says Accpac ERP 6.0 will be a true Web deliverable with a zero client footprint and able to run in any Web browser and within any operating system environment. Accpac 6.0 will be easily deployable and will also be the perfect product to offer in the software as a service model.
