Softline Accpac to showcase Sage ERP X3 at SAPICS

Johannesburg, 20 Jul 2010

Leading provider of business management software, Softline Accpac, a Softline company and part of Sage Group, will be showcasing Sage ERP X3 at the 32nd annual SAPICS conference, to be held at Sun City from 25 to 28 July 2010.

Jeremy Waterman, managing director at Softline Accpac, says Sage ERP X3 is an enterprise ERP system which caters for high-end financial, large scale distribution and warehousing and complex manufacturing requirements.

“Maintaining simplicity and flexibility and providing ease of use, speed of implementation and low cost of ownership, Sage ERP X3 includes all manufacturing, distribution and accounting functions that drive manufacturing organisations today.”

He says SAPICS is a good platform to create further awareness of Sage ERP X3 within supply chain and operations management. “Manufacturers are under increasing pressure to remain competitive. A recent Aberdeen Group report found that 93% are still reliant on manual processes, especially when it comes to the management of compliance and traceability programs.”

He says that while it is very likely that new regulations will continue to be enacted in the coming years, companies need to protect their investment in an enterprise system by selecting an ERP solution that offers a two-fold approach to dealing with changing requirements.

Firstly, Waterman says the system should easily adapt to the company's unique needs. “An ERP system that offers an integrated development environment (IDE) makes personalisation easier and enables the use of the company's formulas, rules and conditions without making programming changes.” Secondly, he says the system should offer flexibility in adapting to changing business conditions. “Change is the norm in business today. Not only do companies need a software solution that's capable of supporting existing business processes, they need a system that can adapt to future business processes as well.”

“Having a process in place that is capable of collecting the information needed, while being easily tailored to specific company requirements, is paramount to the success of a business. We look forward to revealing the business benefits of Sage ERP X3 at SAPICS,” concludes Waterman.
