Softline Accpac to unpack Sage ERP X3, Sage Geode at SAPICS 2009

Johannesburg, 07 Jul 2009

The SAPICS conference and exhibition 2009, which takes place this month, gives Softline Accpac the opportunity to showcase its world-class mid-market ERP system, Sage ERP X3, and the new functionalities of Accpac`s Sage Geode Warehouse Management System (WMS).

Sage ERP X3 offers a full suite of manufacturing, distribution and accounting functions and has enjoyed significant success in the food and beverage, chemical, life sciences, hard goods manufacturing, and wholesale trade industries.

Innovations in the new version of Sage Geode include integration of a voice mode and the pre-billing of logistics services. MD of Softline Accpac Jeremy Waterman says the opportunities are enormous and SAPICS the ideal springboard to a wider footprint for both these products.

"Within the current economic context, companies are clearly looking for ways to cut costs. This is when warehouse management systems like Sage Geode and first-rate ERP systems like Sage ERP X3 become very relevant. Not only do systems like these enable the rationalisation of warehousing costs and the optimisation of logistics flows, but are also significant enablers to improved customer service."

Sage ERP X3 integrates all the enterprise`s information and business processes within one single software system and database, allowing users to get an extensive view of their activity in real-time, no matter where data has been created or stored. The system manages finance, sales, inventory, CRM, purchasing and manufacturing operations, globally, and streamlines all the business processes.

It is Waterman`s view that mid-market manufacturing systems have always provided both vendors and clients with a myriad challenges, ranging from a limited functionality to extremely high cost of ownership.

Sage ERP X3`s scalability, together with its Web-native design features, has taken the market by storm and Softline Accpac looks forward to proudly promoting this product at SAPICS. Although, from a technology perspective, Sage ERP X3 is a modern product, it comes with a number of years of experience in the European and North American markets and has a large number of reference sites across a wide range of industries.

"Fierce global competition is knocking on every manufacturer and supplier`s door and this places them under constant pressure to cut costs, improve quality and, most importantly, speed up time to market. How they respond to these pressures will determine who will still be in the game 10 years from now. The answer lies in integration and visibility," Waterman concludes.

SAPICS is South Africa`s leading source of knowledge and expertise in supply chain and operations, including production, inventory, materials management, purchasing, distribution and logistics. The 2009 conference takes place at Sun City from 12 to 15 July. For more information, visit http://www.sapics.org.za/.
