Softline Pastel hosts National Credit Act seminars

By Pastel
Johannesburg, 18 Jul 2007

Pastel Accounting is hosting seminars in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town during late July to help small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) get up to speed with the National Credit Act.

The seminars, to be hosted by tax and finance expert Ettiene Retief, aim to answer the most pressing questions that businesses have about how the National Credit Act affects their businesses.

Topics to be covered include who must register with the National Credit Regulator; how much interest businesses may charge for a credit agreement; the impact of the Act on employee loans; how the Act affects your ability to collect outstanding debts; and how to plan purchases so the Act does not impact your business in a negative way the next time you apply for credit.

Retief is a practicing financial accountant and tax practitioner with more than 11 years' experience, specialising in taxation and the interpretation and application of tax law. He is a partner and the financial director of Financial Tax & Remuneration Services. Retief is the chief editor and co-author of the Practical Tax Handbook of SMMEs; a contributing author to the Practical VAT Handbook; and a regular speaker at tax update and training seminars.

Seminars will be held in Johannesburg on 26 July at Softline Technology Park, Sandton (already sold out); in Durban on 30 July at The Riverside Hotel, Durban North; and in Cape Town on 31 July at Belmont Square, Rondebosch. The seminar costs R660 per delegate.

Bookings are still available for the Durban and Cape Town seminars, so to reserve your seat, please visit www.pastel.co.za, and click on 'Book Training Online'. Bookings must be made three working days in advance of the seminar.
