Softline VIP selects Accpac financial solution from AccTech Systems

Softline VIP, a leading developer, implementer and support provider of payroll and human resource management software, has opted for a new back office financial solution from Softline affiliate, Softline Accpac. Premier Accpac solution provider, AccTech Systems will manage the implementation.

"We required a system that would make it possible for us to deploy the financial solution over a wide area network (WAN) to manage the accounting needs for all our branches and allow a holistic view at head office level," explains Clarice van der Berg, financial director at Softline VIP. Softline Accpac offered us the perfect solution.

"We are deploying Accpac ERP 500 for Softline VIP on a MSSQL database," says Tertius Ziztke, group MD of AccTech Systems. "Their head office is in Pretoria, but the solution had to be rolled out to branches in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, Port Elizabeth and Bloemfontein, as well as Gaborone and Windhoek. The latter two installations required them to take Accpac`s Multi-currency as an additional module allowing them to print reports in both the functional and the source currency."

"Although Accpac`s Inventory Control (IC) module allows for sales integration, Softline VIP only required IC for the internal issuing of stock at all the branches," explains Zitzke. Softline VIP also has distributed stock control requirements. Branches can now issue complimentary demo software and training manuals to clients and prospects allowing head office to keep track of stock levels. The fact that the inventory system is now integrated with the financial system will save time and allow immediate management of any discrepancies.

"It goes without saying that our internal payroll is managed by our own payroll software and also required an integration with Accpac," says van der Berg.

"Accpac`s General Ledger account structure allowed more segments than our previous system. This feature provided us with the opportunity to pull a lot more detail through to our monthly reports. The speed with which we produce these report packs is now also greatly enhanced."
