Memio Software, a tenant of the Softstart ICT Incubator in Tshwane, officially unveiled its revolutionary new story technology tool, Memio Private, at DEMOfall 2005 on 19 September 2005, one of the world's premier forums for new technology innovations.
The event runs from 19 to 21 September at the Hyatt Huntington Beach in Los Angeles, California.
Memio Software invented the radical new story technology that builds on an ancient insight: storytelling is a wonderful way to help people make sense of their world.
Memio's first product is Memio Private. It records and reveals the links between documents, people, events and other real-world entities.
More specifically, Memio is built around a key invention: that these links and events must be recorded and shown as stories. This is the core of the Memio vision: automatic story writing coupled with an intuitive story reading interface. Added to the context of each story are other context-rich utilities, including desktop search, a similar document finder, and a side-by-side document viewer.
"Memio layers on new context that enhances the informational value of a document so that it is easier for us to quickly find what we're looking for among our increasingly overloaded drives." said Chris Shipley, Executive Producer, DEMOfall 2005. "This unique approach is tremendously innovative."
Throughout its 15-year history, DEMO has hosted over 1 000 companies that have launched the technologies of the future, many of which now serve as standards in today's digital universe. With its unrivalled reputation for attracting technology's best and brightest, DEMO has become a priority event for executives, media and investors, all of whom expect DEMO to provide a glimpse of the products of the future.
"It is an honour to be selected to participate in this exclusive event," said Ben Zaaiman, CEO of Memio Software. "We believe that this powerful consumer application will become a must-have utility for anyone who works with large numbers of documents, interacts with many people, and has to juggle a busy calendar."
