Darren Roos has been appointed senior VP for Middle East and Africa of Software AG's Enterprise Transaction System unit.
Roos, 33, has been key in Software AG's development in SA, trebling the growth of the company to over the last three years and growing its list of clients substantially, the company says in a statement.
"I joined the company at an opportune time when Software AG required a strong local resource. The company has grown off a small base and the market has shown growth since the turmoil of the early 2000s.
"Even in this optimal environment, however, to triple the size of the business has been a great achievement for me," says Roos.
He is optimistic about the company's future growth: "Our exclusive focus on the business infrastructure software market, along with our solid customer commitment, places us in a strong position locally."
