October has been a month of innovation for Software AG. Starting with Software AG's annual technology conference, Innovation World, Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM) was awarded the global Digital Transformation Award. From 20-23 October, Software AG will continue to entrench innovation by powering up South Africa's public sector through digital solutions at GovTech 2013.
At the recently held Innovation World 2013, Software AG's global technology conference, Software AG South Africa's customer, EMM, won the Digital Transformation Award. EMM was chosen from dozens of global nominees as the winner for its transformation into an innovative digital enterprise, by significantly improving service delivery processes. This achievement is testimony to Software AG's dedication to instigate innovation in the public sector.
As a proud sponsor of GovTech 2013, SITA's 8th annual conference, Software AG is continuing its support to ICT innovation in South African government. With a 20-year history of powering up the public sector, Software AG experts will imbed the importance of leveraging these four forces to improve service delivery across all spheres of government at the conference, held from 20 to 23 October, in Cape Town.
Theo Priestley, Software AG's Vice-President and Chief Evangelist, named one of the top 50 Influencers for the business process management industry in 2012, will engage on the topic of innovation, what it means for other industries and lessons government can learn from them. He will explain how other industries are applying emerging technologies such as wearable technology, big data and predictive analytics, and ultimately, how the public sector and consequently the South African citizen, can benefit from these solutions.
Patrick Shields, Chief Technology Officer for Africa, will give government the tools to embrace innovation by identifying the obstacles blocking the introduction of emerging technologies. He will provide guidelines to ICT leaders on realising the benefits of "digital government" and "e-government" by using a foundation of business process management, strategy and integration.
Integration is a cornerstone of Software AG's offering. With Software AG's ETS technology, solutions are able to integrate effectively with government's existing IT systems. Challenges government face on a daily basis, such as data growth, supply chain management and process management across disparate systems, are overcome by Software AG's adaptable business process technologies.
Globally, Software AG's solutions have assisted governments around the world to decrease processing times, reduce production costs by digitising operations, streamline data entries, create interactive customer service interfaces and integrate payroll systems.
Software AG strives to make the term 'innovation' synonymous with local government as well. By continuing to provide South Africa's public sector with Software AG's innovative and benchmark-setting solutions, the digitisation of government will be achieved by default.
