Software AG, iWay Software announce global partnership

Johannesburg, 17 Feb 2003

Software AG, Europe's largest provider of system software and services enabling enterprise data integration and management, has forged a worldwide partnership with iWay Software, pre-eminent vendor of adapter technologies in the integration market, to provide customers with an extended and simpler solution for integrating applications using open standards.

The alliance enables Software AG to sell iWay Software's extensive range of intelligent adapters along with its EntireX integration server product line, thereby enriching Software AG's leading specialisation in service-based integration and management products and services.

The partnership will be based on close contact between the respective research and development teams, giving Software AG full access to all of iWay's laboratories.

Joe Curran, Manager of Software AG South Africa, comments: "Our EntireX integration technology is based on open standards such as XML, SOAP and Web services. The adapters now available via iWay Software provide EntireX with standards-based plug-and-play access to data, applications and technologies. These include packaged applications, legacy systems, messaging, customer relationship management applications and supply chain management systems.

"Customers are afraid of vendor lock-in," Curran continues, "and prefer standards-based integration to proprietary components. Our business objective is to offer cost-effective customer choice and that is why we have enabled our EntireX range to support third-party standard interface adapters.

"iWay is a clear leader with an excellent reputation for adapter technology. This partnership will help drive our market leadership. Software AG will benefit from the enhanced choice in adapter technology that it can offer its large enterprise customer base, which will in turn be an important new market for iWay."
