Microsoft SA has recently approved Software Connection Limited and Business Connection as a Microsoft Direct Large Account Reseller (DLAR). Software Connection Limited and Business Connection are two of only five companies in South Africa that have been awarded DLAR status by Microsoft, and are therefore able to sell and administer Microsoft Select Licensing Contracts to corporations using over 2 000 PCs."Software Connection has been a Microsoft Large Account reseller (LAR) for four years prior to being awarded DLAR status in January this year. It is the largest Microsoft LAR in South Africa, holding more Microsoft Select Contracts than any other reseller in the country," said Kim Denbury, Corporate Licensing Manager for Software Connection. "We are proud to be associated with Microsoft SA, and this development will enable us to work even closer with Microsoft and to continue delivering a superior level of service to our corporate customers. Software Connection has in-house specialised Microsoft Select personnel who administer and track these agreements locally and internationally," added Denbury.Benjamin Mophatlane, MD of Business Connection, said: "This latest development is in line with our strategy which is very much Microsoft-driven, bringing Microsoft products, solutions and developments together. We will now be able to reduce the total cost of ownership through cost-effective licensing, maximise end-user productivity, and reduce the risk of migrating to new technology. "We are excited about the growth of our business and the market as a whole and believe there is a definite niche in this market - especially among the historically disadvantaged communities and parastatals," added Mophatlane.
