Software Futures appointed Seagate VAP

Johannesburg, 25 Nov 1998
Software Futures has been appointed a value-added partner (VAP) for the Seagate Software Information Management Group (IMG) range of products. The appointment is in acknowledgement of Software Futures` leading role in the business intelligence market and deepens the company`s range of products with which to go to market.

Products in the Seagate Software IMG range are Seagate Crystal Reports, Seagate Crystal Info and Seagate Holos. Together they form an integrated business intelligence suite for data access and analysis, desktop OLAP, distributed reporting and enterprise-wide OLAP.

"The Seagate Software IMG products are complementary with our data warehousing products, add depth to our reporting capabilities, and support our application development environment," says Bruce Harris, Software Futures Seagate sales executive.

Software Futures has Seagate-certified training capabilities, using Seagate training material, adds Harris, and will focus on value-added consulting and training around Seagate IMG products.

"We can perform high-level consulting from Day One," says Harris, "providing analysis, delivery and technical support."

"We were attracted to Software Futures because of their reputation and customer profile," says Vivek Thomas, regional manager, MEA Seagate Software IMG.

Harris adds Software Futures has identified a number of immediate sales opportunities in its existing client base and expects Seagate Software IMG sales to make a significant contribution to overall group software sales.
