Oracle has awarded EMEA Application Partner and Application Reseller certification to Software Futures, the software development specialist in the MGX group.
This is only the second such certification awarded to a South African IT company, making Software Futures one of just 27 companies in the UK, Europe, Middle East and Africa region to achieve this recognition from Oracle.
Software Futures provides solutions for the financial, insurance, managed healthcare and transport industries. Its competencies include Oracle e-Business Suite application implementation. Oracle's certification enables Software Futures to resell and implement the Oracle e-Business suite throughout the UK, Europe and Africa.
"This will assist us in moving forward with our international expansion programme, and holds specific advantage for South African based multi-national corporations," says Software Futures MD Derek Hughes. "Part of our strategic plan has been to focus on Oracle technology and Oracle-based solutions, and partner status is the keystone for our planned growth of the Oracle business unit."
The relationship between Oracle and Software Futures has focused on expanding market reach and providing solutions to complement Oracle's offering, in line with Oracle's view on the role of the channel in evolving marketplaces. Software Futures sold and implemented the first partner-primed Oracle licence in SA, and was the first certified technology partner to be appointed locally.
"The partnership indicates the high regard with which Oracle EMEA views Software Futures' ability, skills and track record," says Kelvin Reynolds, director enterprise sales and alliances at Oracle. "It is Oracle's stamp of approval for the quality implementation of our e-suite solutions. Customers can be assured that Software Futures has the skills, methodologies and track record for on-time delivery of solutions that address the their requirements."
Certification will provide practical benefits for both organisations and for their clients. "Our combined technology and close cooperation will ensure our customers are offered cost-effective and seamless solutions for their business challenges," says Selwyn Brunsdon, Oracle Solutions unit manager at Software Futures. "Oracle will be reaching a broad customer base that will be supplied with solutions rather than products, an ever-increasing demand in the world of e-business."
Brunsdon adds that Software Futures and its clients will benefit from improved delivery, exposure to new geographic markets and continued local support.
Brundson adds that few Oracle partners achieve this level of certification. Prospective partners first have to achieve the required level of Oracle e-suite skills and establish a track record. Software Futures plans to become an Advantage Partner - the highest level partnership -in the next 18 months.
The company has more than 100 Oracle skilled professionals throughout SA, based in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town.
