Solar phone lands in Europe
The Puma phone, a solar-powered device made by Sagem, is now available in 11 European countries, says Mobile Burn.
The phone will be heading to Africa and the Middle East in the next few weeks. It was unveiled at Mobile World Congress earlier this year.
The device offers a 2.8-inch touch-screen display, a 3.2-megapixel camera, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a front-facing camera for video chat.
LG to release tablet
LG Electronics is planning to unveil an Android-powered tablet PC in the fourth quarter of 2010, reports PCR Online.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the South Korean firm did not announce any further details such as pricing or regional availability.
LG says it will also introduce a smartphone running Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 OS some time this year.
iPhone goes biking
Dahon is offering the Biologic Bike Mount for the iPhone, which attaches to the user's handlebars, can pivot 360 degrees into landscape or portrait mode, and seals the phone inside a silicon-lined, weatherproof case, states Gizmag.
While the screen is protected against water and dust, it does still respond to the touch of the user's fingers.
Because the phone's speaker and microphone are sealed away along with everything else, conducting a conversation without a headset could prove difficult. Instead, Dahon suggests the mount be used mainly to track one's position on a map via GPS, and monitor the speed and distance travelled; essentially, the iPhone acts as a cycling computer.
