Independent IT solutions provider First Technology has developed an innovative warehouse module to complement its acclaimed online/offline e-business solution, E-Procure
The new E-Procure Warehouse Management module seeks to control an organisation`s stores of MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Operations) supplies - unlike most conventional warehouse systems which are focused on the storage of product intended for delivery to customers.
"This includes everything from stationery and cleaning equipment, to tools and widgets used in factories and consumed during a manufacturing process," explains Clark Coetzee, MD, i-Development Division at First Technology.
"Many organisations have implemented e-procurement systems to manage and reduce the costs associated with purchasing supplies needed for the daily operations of their business. But what happens to those supplies after they`ve been delivered to the business? Who or what controls the stationery cupboard or the factory storeroom?"
E-Procure is an integrated, affordable, cost-effective end-to-end B2B solution with full, multilevel workflow and electronic document management. The solution, which can be fully integrated into ACCPAC and other accounting and ERP systems, offers all the well-documented advantaged associated with e-procurement such as improved productivity and savings while eliminating the major problems which have plagued most B2B initiatives. These include issues relating to Internet usage; the `hidden` costs associated with e-marketplace membership and transaction fees; and difficulties associated with integration to legacy back-office systems.
E-Procure Warehouse Management plugs seamlessly into E-Procure, enabling businesses to manage multiple `internal` warehouses/storerooms. It can also be used as a standalone system.
According to Coetzee, E-Procure Warehouse Management can provide a wide range of audit reports including stock movement reports and reports by end-user, department or division.
It will track the status and movement of every item purchased from the time it`s taken into stock to when it is issued. And if E-Procure Warehouse Management is integrated with the organisation`s backend accounting, ERP or e-procurement systems, it will automatically update those systems too.
