Over the past few years it has been apparent in most industries that to remain focused on one`s core business delivers far more value to stakeholders than diversifying too extensively. It was based on this premise that Solutional recently entered into a value-added reseller partnership around its flagship product, Radical, with local business systems specialist, DVT.
This partnership will allow Solutional to implement its strategy of focusing its resources on its core business, developing Radical, while empowering DVT to focus on Radical implementation and customisation.
Combining the disciplines of project management, business analysis and software development, DVT is a black empowered company with a bright future, and has already become a major force in the business systems market. DVT`s entry into the Radical market is spearheaded in Gauteng by Derek Hughes, former Managing Director of Software Futures, one of the largest software companies in SA, and in the Cape by Chris Wilkins, one of the two founders of DVT.
"Radical is now one of the three strategic pillars of our business, alongside custom software development and IT security, " says Hughes.
Solutional Director, Marc Field, comments: "Having a value-added reseller of DVT`s capabilities allows Solutional to focus on its core business which is development of its product, Radical. This in turn benefits the customers in that the product continues to compete with those in the international market, keeping abreast of new technologies and best practices. Solutional works closely with its value-added resellers and maintains strict quality controls, ensuring that DVT and the reseller channel improve the level of implementation, training and customisation services."
DVT has established a dedicated Radical sales and support team, all of whom have already attended the accredited Radical training courses, and the rest of the company has "bought into" the new venture with enthusiasm. Although DVT is a software development company, it had identified a need for a product-based framework to complement its existing offering with regards to business solutions.
"We chose Radical not only because it is an excellent and Proudly South African product, but it fits neatly within our current competencies and opens a new market segment for us, specifically in the incident-tracking environment across vertical markets," says Hughes.
"We have worked closely with the team at DVT in the past and know they are passionate about the product and the professional services offered around it. It is seldom that we have seen such dedication to a third-party product. We are confident that this has been strategically a good decision on the part of Solutional and DVT," says Field.
"Now that we are confident that another company can offer the sales and professional services around Radical with little dependence on Solutional, we can focus on the base product and take it to the next technological level which will continue to follow the Microsoft framework that we have selected in our development approach," he adds.
"Aside from aggressively marketing Radical and the solutions we are able to build using the product, we intend to immediately implement Radical help-desk internally to manage the support services we provide to over 35 clients, locally and internationally," says Hughes. "It`s a clear case of putting our money where our mouth is."
DVT has a staff of over 60 and offices in Gauteng and in Cape Town, and clients can be assured of excellent local service around the country.
Solutional is a company that specialises in the development of business management software and has incorporated best of breed features and functionality into its flagship product, Radical.
The management and staff at Solutional have in excess of 20 years` experience in the realm of customer relationship management and call centre solutions and are extremely familiar with best practices around software implementation in these environments.
